Day Six

The camera's back!

Today I finished priming the bathroom walls in preparation for Keith the Handyman to fix up the drywall this weekend.

This is the master bathroom before:

And here's what the walls look like after priming (although this is actually the downstairs bathroom):

This is the very last piece of wallpaper in the house, a small bit behind the toilet I pulled off tonight:

Huzzah for no more wallpaper!

Also, I thought I would show you the perfectly lovely floors in the otherwise hideous bathrooms. This is the master - real ceramic tile:

And this is the downstairs bathroom:

Yet this is a good example of what the carpet looks like throughout the whole house:

I don't understand anyone who has ever lived in this place. Ever.

So, also, I will say farewell to the burned up vanity top, which Keith is replacing this weekend:

Keith will also be installing these:

We're going on hiatus until Monday - stay tuned.

Day Five

My camera has chosen this inopportune time to quit working. I just put new batteries in it over the weekend so I'm hoping they were a defective batch and nothing is wrong with the camera itself.

Anyhow, there are no pictures for today, but we did accomplish the following:

1. Remaining bathroom walls washed down.
2. ANOTHER coat painted on cabinets in kitchen; Ben thinks they still need another. I hope this doesn't become a trend.
3. Kitchen, entryway, downstairs bathroom, and most of guest bathroom primed with Kilz. These rooms look a ton better with a layer of white primer over the torn-up drywall. I hope that's a good sign. Our handyman is coming this weekend to work his magic.

That's it! I'll get new batteries today. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that they work.
