Day Thirty.

30 days. This has been the longest month of my life.

Today was a day devoted to painting woodwork, so the pictures probably don't look too much different from yesterday. We put a second and third coat on the master bedroom:

And three tedious coats on the living & dining room. The crown molding only has 2 coats and does need a third, but hopefully I will get to that tomorrow night.

Keith also made a brief appearance and replaced two vanity tops in the bathrooms. He unfortunately has a cold and proclaimed himself "wobbly" and probably unsafe to drive, so he went home to go to sleep. He's promised to finish by this weekend because he knows we're moving on Friday/Saturday. Good old Keith.

Here is the new vanity top in the guest bathroom:

And here is the old burned vanity sitting on the living room floor. Huzzah! It's now in the trunk of Ben's car and well on its way to being in the trash.

Ben also took down two of the hideous "chandeliers", one in the kitchen and one in the dining room. He hasn't yet replaced them, but we do have all the light fixtures purchased (with the exception of the one for the entryway, which we haven't been able to agree on yet).

Accomplished today:
1. Woodwork painted (3 coats) in living room/dining room.
2. Woodwork painted (2 coats) in master bedroom.
3. 2 ugly light fixtures removed.
4. 2 nice and pretty new vanity tops installed.

And here's what we have left to do:
1. One more coat of paint on crown molding in living/dining room.
2. Touch up paint in kitchen, master bath, living room (very few spots).
3. Paint trim in downstairs and guest baths (my mom has graciously volunteered to do this when she's here the week of Thanksgiving. At least, she agreed to the guest bath. We'll see about the other.)
4. Paint trim in kitchen, entryway, and Ben's studio. As this is all whitish at present and there won't be a lot of furniture in those areas, we're not going to bother with this before we move in. Hopefully it will be done before the end of the year.
5. Install light fixtures in 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, and entryway.
6. Replace all switch plates.
7. Surely there's something else....

It looks awesome you guys. You're amazing! I can't believe how much you've done.

I should be around part of the weekend to help you move.

I think you guys did a great job of seeing the potential in that house. I love all the mouldings and the French windows. It looks fantastic!!!!

Jamie, you don't even know how many times I've tried to psych myself into taking a picture of Keith, but I always chicken out.

Ben is EXTREMELY particular over decorating details. I can't believe choosing the paint went so smoothly.

Keith is awesome, Jamie. He talks non-stop and he wears a cell phone headset constantly.
